We then had to travel to Adelaide that night as it was the only bus available that weekend which we had to be there by as we had a train to catch As soon as we d booked the bus we tried to book a hostel however every one we rang said there was nothing available we were worried It was a bank holiday weekend and there was a festival on in Adelaide we spent the whole hour bus journey worried we would be sleeping in the bus station It was an overnight bus so at about in the morning we started hostel hunting after a few rejections we found somewhere however the owner told us the room was like a sauna as it had no air con or fan and Adelaide was hot Obviously we took it though the next two nights we were boiling Didn t have that much time in Adelaide though we checked out part of the fringe festival that was going on in a park! and got to see the smallest tap dancer in the world who is under a metre tall On the Sunday we caught the Ghan train which travels kms to Darwin we were basically on the train for and a half days It stopped a couple of times along the way for a few hours in Alice Springs and then Katherine Both even hotter than Adelaide as we were in the middle of Australia The train was good and we got to see the Outback which is really impressive just miles and miles of red dust and trees We got to Darwin pretty tired sleeping in a chair for two days we didn t get the best sleep The hostel mucked up our booking so we ended up sharing a dorm with two Australian guys which was actually pretty good as they shared their opinion on a lot of Australian things Darwin is a city but feels like a town as there is only really two main streets and you have to travel minutes to get to a shopping centre The museum is good though there s a large part on Cyclone Tracy which devastated Darwin in . Whilst! in Darwin we have done a day trip to both Litchfield National Park and Kakadu National Park. Lichfield was more for relaxing we also went on a jumping crocodile cruise and saw the crocodiles pretty close scary Emma also had a big snake wrapped around her neck was scared at first but then grew quite fond of him Kakadu was really good we did a scenic flight over the park it s massive We saw the waterfalls and even a part where they filmed a bit of crocodile dundee We went on a cruise through the wetlands aswell which was interesting and saw Aboriginal rock art. As it s the wet season in Darwin it pours down with rain and thunderstorms at times though it is also really hot and we can t stay outside for too long at a time Another place we visted in Darwin was the hospital It looks like Sarah s foot is on the mend now and fingers crossed will heal in time so she can swim in Thailand This afternoon we re flying to Singapore so it s goodbye to Australia We feel a bit sad to leave as we ve been here a while but we re also really looking forward to Si! ngapore and Thailand Can t believe we re home in three weeks Hope everyone is ok and have a great easter weekend p.s. quotSomething to Talk Aboutquot CD
Home About The Best Songs Entries RSS Comments RSS Pages About May M T W T F S S Archives May Search for Categories Music Category Cloud Music Blog Stats hits Top Clicks None Top Posts Swing Jazz Top Picks Summer concert business booms as CD sales tank Up Close Personal Review New R B Albums Sept. Something to Talk About CD Posted on May by thebestsongs Old School Sexiness Guide Rating It s still unknown how many finished but unreleased songs Gerald Levert recorded before his untimely death in November but since this is already the second posthumous release of new material by him in just seven months then it might be safe to say that despite his death the public will still hear from Levert for some time to come. On Gerald teams with his father Eddie Sr. of the O Jays for a dozen old school R B tracks that are so vivid and vibrant that they might make you completely forget for awhile anyway that Gerald is no longer among the living. It s All in the FamilyThere are some songs o! n in which you literally can t tell Gerald s voice from Eddie Sr. s and it s this that drives home an important point these two men were like best friends in addition to being father and son. Must hear songs include the fun n sexy tracks A Situation and I Like It. And on That s What I Do Eddie Gerald seemingly do their best Babyface impersonations singing about how they ll do anything for and give everything to their women. Apparently chivalry like the spirit of Gerald Levert is not dead. And sure it s an old fashioned mentality but it s a nice change from the songs these days that belittle and or demean women. Their praising of females continues on Bad Habit where they sing about wanting a woman s lovin so much that she s become a bad habit that results in other things like work becoming neglected Gerald sings. Like a lot of music by members of the Levert family the singing can be over the top sometimes. Plus there aren t many new ideas here. In fact not even the album s c! oncept is new Eddie Sr. and Gerald recorded another duets album called back in . But other than the unappealing title track which is a remake of the old Bonnie Raitt hit this is a well done cohesive package of material that fully displays the skills that have kept the Levert family on the charts and in the hearts fans for decades.
