It sounded like a snowball and since it s snowing that s not an unreasonable assumption. I turn to see two objects descending. Crap. I go outside to check it out and sure enough there s a bird on the steps. I instinctively pick it up. I have this motherly nature about me where I want to get things out of harms way and try to help them. What can I do though It s possible this bird has done serious damage to it s cranium. But I don t know. It can! t talk. I m not an ornothologist. Damn. Put it out of it s misery Not an option. First I don t know if it s that miserable second I can t kill things. It s one of the reasons I m vegan. So I sat there on the porch holding this confused little creature. It s not the first time. I ve had to wrangle birds from my cat s mouths on the odd occasion and I don t worry about parasites as I m sure to wash my hands. So I don t know the best thing I could think of was to put it in a tree and if it s going to die then at least let it die in it s natural environment and not in the hands of the species responsible for placing windows in such an erroneous location. This post isn t meant to bum anyone out. But think about how we indirectly contribute to harming other beings on a daily basis. It s kind of a staggering idea but as we embark on this green revolution let s keep in mind the survival of other beings on this planet. Well it s snowing like crazy which is cutting into my outdoor so! ccer lesson planning big time. This isn t so much a bad thing as I m anticipating the introduction to the sport as being kind of a pain. Wait that s a self fulfilling prophecy waiting to happen. No the unit is going to be super fun and I wish the sun would come out so we could get on with it In gym today a kid called me dumb because my reffing was unfair to him at least. I told him that unless he wanted to spend the rest of the morning in the office he was to keep the insults to himself and he nearly started to cry. There s something weird with that kid. I ve noticed it since day one. He s a little off. His buddy fell on his keys later on and spent minutes on the ground howling. I thought he broke something but he insisted that it was just the wicked charley horse. He walked it off and was fine. My s and I talked about puppy mills a bit in class today since we re learning about selective breeding as part of a genetics unit. It also opened up the floor to discussions on fish farms and how genetically modified fish roaming wild might not be a ho! t idea. Though some of them were convinced it would be since it would add genetic variability to future offspring. That one stumped me for a sec. My s were fun as usual. I gave a girl the boot today for noogying another boy during my lecture. During the lab section a group confessed that they were going to miss me when I left. It was kind of touching. I am going to be saddened when I leave these kids they re total characters. One of them wanted me to admit I spend all my time outside of school at the gym and that we need to call a plumber because my pipes are about to burst . I assured him the only thing that keeps me in decent shape was the diet and the occasional band practice. His buddy told me I should try eating onions. I told him that I hate onions. He said they re good to eat like apples and that they clean you palate. I told him he was full of it and he said that tomorrow he s going to bring an onion and that we re going to chow down . His friend then told him that ! his breath is bad enough as it is and that he should probably just stay away from anything that would make it worse. SeeThru MacBook cases ar! e made of translucent hard plastic to beautify and protect. Customer Reviews Good for what it is by Adama M. Loos diallo I bought this case a few months after I bought my computer because I wanted to save my mac from getting scratched up. For that the case does it s job. I really like the color it gives my white macbook. The only negative thing is that there are parts of the case that seem a little flimsy like they could break if they weren t on the laptop. That s not a big deal just keep the case on the computer. I only wish I d bought it earlier to protect my mac from scratches. Definitely worth the money by Doriana Graye So for those of you who say your cover scratched your Macbook.I have absolutely NO idea how that happened. I take my cover off once a month or so to clean the interior because fuzz and dust can get through some of the edges especially becasue I live in a dorm. It IS vitally important that you clean off your laptop with the cloth provided which incidental! ly also works wonders for your screen before placing the cover on. Again I haven t had problems in that area. I find that this cover fits well and looks extremely sleek. No worries about slipping or sliding the cover locks down tightly to prevent any of that. I carry my computer around all the time in my backpack and the cover stays on tight. It will not protect your Macbook against impact but my cover has already absorbed tons of scratches from daily use that would otherwise be on the pearly white cover. I would assume it would also buy you another seconds or so should you spill something on your laptop but it is not waterproof either. Again I can t emphasize enough how good the cover looks on your Mac. Macs are meant to be streamlined so why buy a bulky cover that masks the wonderful design of the computer C mon Mac owners are proud folk. Why hide your lovely purchase This cover lets your Apple logo shine through and maintains the design integrity of the laptop. It comes in fabulous colors which really pop against the white background it s p! ut against. The only drawbacks I ve found are these the cover must be removed for cleaning every once in a while and the Speck cover itself is fairly easy to scratch. I ve had my cover for about a month and it s pretty scratced up already. I plan on replacing the cover again in about six months but it s an expense I m willing to make to keep my laptop which I plan on having for at least five years in tip top condition. horrible. by Eric J. Shaffer i wanted to protect my mac from the obvious scratches the soft outercasing would get so i bought a speck case. BAD IDEA. this thing scratched up my macbook so bad. the case itself also gets really scratched and nasty really easily. the rubber feet fell off of the bottom of the case and this case makes my macbook so much heavier and bulkier for some reason. you re better off just buying a large decal to put over the casing to protect your computer from scratches and tote it in a neoprene sleeve. Can t remove it by E. Garcia I just ! got this and attached it with no problem. But when I tried to remove it to change batteries I can t not without feeling like I ll break apart my computer or the plastic cover. I ve tried moving the tabs but this thing seems really stuck Anyone have the same problems Suggestions Thanks E Similar Products Tags jb gb gb inch case gbmacbook s g memstick gb gb gb sd card gb mm gb gbear buds gig memory card nd generation rd generation rd generation gb i pod shuffle purple gb gig sony memory card gb gb duo pro memory stick gb foot optical cable gb s punk gb extreme mp acer action adventure action movies on psp amari amazing earphones andreascg pick andrew anthony earphones apple apple cases apple laptop apple mac book pro asus eee pc audio audio isolating awesome backpack backup bad brains bass bluetooth bluetooth gps book holder book lift browncoats buen regalo but kind of flimsy cable camera camera caseipod shuffle camera memory camerwide angle campact flash card readers canon canon camera canon digital camera canon g gb canon sd is car gps car spy! carrying case case casegarmin nuvi cheap cheap earphones chloe christmas classic rock cleaner coby coby super bassshuffle college comfort compact compact digital camera compaqcell phone display scratches computer computer accessories computer add ons computer games computer hardware consumer reports number pick for feb cover creative zen stone cybershot d danger bamacbook data storage defective by design defectivebydesign desk accessory digital digital cable digital camera digital camera accessory digital camera memory digitalgarmin nuvi document holder dora leappad drm free drmmemory stick pro duo ds games duo DVD dvd drama dvd so so dvr e c e c n ear buds earphones eee pc Electronics elph er i etymotic excellent macbook hard case exercisememory card expansion pack external external hard disk external hard drive extreme family guy the video game fellowes firewire firewire fun fun game gadget games gaming garmin garmin garmin c garmin car gps garmin gps hd dvd garmin nuvi ! garmin nuvi garmin nuvi memory stick pro duo garmin nuvi gps georgia sarah good product for the money gps great value hailey hard drive hard drives hardcase hardcore hdmi hdmi cable hdtv headphones heavy highschool i just bought it i would recommend it iem image stabilization in ear in ear sound isolationusb speaker intel internet ipod ipod accessories ipod earbuds ipod earphones ipod nano ipod shuffle ipod shuffles john christmas junk bad optical cable avoidportable hard drive kai keyboard kids kindle kingston lapetop laptop laptop backpack laptop backpackexternal hard drive laptop case laptop cover laptop speaker laptop speakers large book holder lcd scratch repair leappad leather carrying case mac macbook macbook cover macbook shell macbook whitenot hd madison gift martial arts memory memory card memory cards memory stick memory stick pro duo mhf mhf monster hunter freedom movies action to thriller mp mp player mp mpeg mpeg recording multi use cases music music player my book mybook nano navigation neuros forums new york city nikon nintendo! ds notebook notebook case notebookiphone accessoriesexternal hard drive nuvi nuvi nuvi nuvi on amazonpsp online gamingpsp accessory optical optical cable osd own it on dvcomputer backpack panoramasdhc passport personal travel assistant pets photo photography plastic lense polisher point and shoot polisher portable portable hard drive poss emma powershot pro duo protection protector protopunk psp psp accessory psp case psp game psp hand game psp holder psp memory psp screen guard psp skin psp slim psp slimipod psp travel case psp punk quentin tarantino raid rasta punk rastifaridora reggae remote controlfamily guy sandisk science fiction scratch remover scratchessims screen sd card sd cards sd memory sd memory card sd sdhc sdhc card secure digital shuffle sierra sims simulation slim pspshure smartphone sony speakers speck speck macbook see thru hard case red storage study aid stylish tarantino targus targus laptop case excellenthardcore punk tech booksmacbook pro textbook ho! lder the last wars of the jinn the sims the sims the sims petsaction tomtom one toys transcend trash ultra umd usb usb drive usb speakers usbbook stand w ipsp western digital western digital back up gb rpm external wi fi wii wonderful book standnetlaptop bag xlink your kung fu is no goodpsp accessory zunecomputer speakerssd memory Share This Related Posts Speck MacBook Pro See Thru Hard Case CLEAR Fits all versions of MacBooks Speck MacBook See Thru Hard Case CLEAR Fits all versions of MacBooks Speck MacBook Pro See Thru Hard Case RED Fits all versions of MacBooks MacBook Marware Protection Pack White eSeries Apple iPhone V Rapid Car Charger No user resposed Speck MacBook See Thru Hard Case RED Fits all versions of MacBooks Speck MacBook See Thru Hard Case RED Fits all versions of MacBooks was posted by admin and received no user commented Welcome stranger please leave your commnets below Username required Email required Website leave your comments below Subsribes to this topic Comment Rss or TrackBack about Hello my name is NULL. Since Detroit has led the state in new housing starts in . But it is wracked by mortgage foreclosures From January through August nearly one in households were in some stage of foreclosure. The renovation of downtown s Book Cadillac building a project that languished for years trudges toward completion this fall. Yet others such as the million Watermark Detroit project have stalled because developers cannot sell enough preconstruction units to secure the loans they need to break ground. Advertisement City leaders plug away at the deficit the council s fiscal analyst pegs it at million this year but the mayor s staff is confident of a balanced budget. Increasingly however Detroit has borrowed money to keep cops and garbage trucks on the street. When Kilpatrick took office in the annual amount of interest on borrowed funds was about per capita. By the most recently audited year that had nearly tripled to for every resident in a city whose population has slipped from in to . Tuesday night before an invitation only audience at Orchestr! a Hall Kilpatrick is expected to tout his successes as well as some new ideas including a million bond fund for capital improvements such as upgrades to police and fire stations plus job training for Detroiters. As a city with an economy that s been largely driven by one industry in addition to the broader troubles of the state and national circumstances Detroit has faced an especially tough uphill climb Kilpatrick s press secretary Denise Tolliver said in a statement Sunday. We re initiating a multimillion dollar effort to stem the tide of record foreclosures we have new initiatives designed to continue to bring crime levels down and will continue to improve basic city services. This is not a bad place to live said Ava Tinsley a lifelong resident of the Boston Edison Historic District who works to eradicate blight and improve life in her neighborhood. Tinsley sees too many broken streetlights. And insurance rates are too high. But when volunteers teamed up to landscape the! medians and clean up trash the city ponied up with Dumpsters and new trees. There is no longer lip service from the mayor s office Tinsley said. When they say they ll fix something they do. Still for every neighborhood that is succeeding another struggles. Nearly in homes is vacant compared to in in . And life in Detroit remains very tough for many. Violent crime has neither dramatically spiked nor fallen as Detroit continues to bear the dubious distinction of being among America s most dangerous cities. In Detroit recorded murders the same year that Los Angeles with . million residents tallied homicides. Preliminary numbers reported by the city to the FBI for the first six months of show violent crime dipped percent in Detroit. The percentage of Detroiters living below the federal poverty level rose from percent in to . percent in according to the most recent U.S. Census Bureau statistics. Joblessness in the Motor City hovers around percent one of the highest rates of any American city. Kurt Metzger director of research for United Way of Sou! theastern Michigan calls Detroit s fortunes a real mixed bag and said efforts by City Hall banks churches and others to lift Detroit have been held back by the foreclosure crisis. These programs hoped to have a ripple effect that by putting your money into one small area you can make a real difference he said. But with the foreclosures and home abandonments no one really can see what is going on. Said Larry Barteau owner of Larry s Ribs on Grand River near the abandoned Fifth Police Precinct For every step forward there seems to be another step backward. Detroit may not have much money but there has to be a way to squeeze a little bit more out of what they have. You can reach David Josar at or djosardetnews.com . Growth Hormone Will Not Be Added to Controlled Substances List
Senators Charles Schumer D NY and Chuck Grassley R IA have modified a bill that would have added human growth hormone HGH to the Controlled Substances List. The bill was introduced as a kneejerk reaction to revelations of widespread HGH use in professional baseball . But in the end legislators avoided making the same mistake with HGH as they did with anabolic androgenic steroids AAS with the Anabolic Steroid Control Act of . HGH bill altered to help children April Senators Charles Schumer D N.Y. and Chuck Grassley R Iowa have dropped language in the bill that would have put HGH on the same legal plane as anabolic steroids a move that would have severely limited access to the synthetic hormone. For example under the bill s original language HGH would not have been widely available through the mail and would not have been available in longer than six month supplies. Because doctors specializing in childhood growth disorders often are far from patients such controls could have ! caused hardship for families with children using the drug. The atmosphere of steroid hysteria resulted in overwhelming bipartisan support for the original HGH bill practically guaranteeing passage of the legislation. When it comes to steroids and performance enhancing drugs it appears that emotional arguments generally trump intellectual arguments . But fortunately and surprisingly the Sen. Schumer and Sen. Grassley rationally examined the evidence of the adverse consequences particularly for children of making HGH a Scheduled III controlled substance. We ve ran into some things that we didn t anticipate. We were enlightened by the parents whose children legitimately need HGH Grassley told USA TODAY on Tuesday. Making it a more tightly controlled substance would have created a lot of red tape for them. Sadly Sen. Schumer and Sen. Grassley are not students of history when it comes to the Controlled Substances Act otherwise they would already known how political misuse of the! Controlled Substances Act especially involving doping in sports can adversely affect availability of pharmaceuticals for patients who needs these therapies for health wellness and survival. The addition of anabolic steroids to the Controlled Substances List with the Anabolic Steroids Control Act of had adverse unintended consequences for untold numbers of patients who had legitimate medical indications requiring anabolic steroid treatment. We can thank Sen. Mike Enzi R WY and Sen. Richard Burr R NC who were widely criticized for doing so at the time for placing a temporary hold on the original HGH legislation thereby allowing reason to prevail over emotion in the Senate. But most credit should go to the MAGIC Foundation a non profit organization dedicated to providing support services to the families of children afflicted with chronic and critical disorders syndromes and diseases that affect their growth for their activism in the matter. Update on the Eyeball
Twisted Family Antics Striving to stem the tide of relative stupidity . . . Update on the Eyeball . . March My son s eye no longer looks like a deranged lime or kiwi. It s still very colorful however. Evidently the sinuses are right above the eye and blowing your nose is a bad idea if your orbit is broken. You end up blowing air into your eye socket and it stays there for a while. He ll be seeing a plastic surgeon next week to make sure there are no potential long term complications. He was blasted by a total stranger outside a bar when he went to the defense of a friend. The friend got pushed by a big dude who looked about . The guy thought the friend threw a snowball at him. A case of mistaken identity. You broke my kid s face over a freaking snowball It s kind of a sad commentary that I m just as relieved the guy wasn t caught since if a court case ensued he would be entitled to all of my son s identifying information. Hoping it will just be a lesson learned without any l! ong standing complication. I m not exactly sure what the lesson is but I m absolutely sure there is one. I find it interesting that no matter his age the feeling is the same when your kid is hurt. I would so completely prefer the injury were mine instead of his. Don Banks Why Falcons glad to see Favre go Sports Illustrated
Strangely enough the screaming headline news of Brett Favre s retirement led my thoughts in an unexpected direction to the lowly Falcons and some reflection on how different the fate of two franchises might have been had the Packers never wrested Favre away from Atlanta in their memorable February trade. Talk about your juxtaposition. It couldn t be any starker. While Favre has been the ever present face of the storied Green Bay franchise these past years here today are the Falcons still searching for their first back to back winning seasons and still desperately trying to replace the franchise quarterback they let get away. At No. in this year s draft Atlanta is likely in position to select Boston College s Matt Ryan and hopefully end its nightmare at the quarterback position. But oh what might have been had the Falcons and not the Packers benefited from Favre s glorious year run as an NFL starter. Consider the following In the seasons since Favre arrived in Green Bay and t! ook over the starting job in Week of the Falcons have started exactly different quarterbacks in at least one regular season game. The humbling breakdown is as follows Michael Vick games Chris Chandler Jeff George Bobby Hebert Doug Johnson Joey Harrington Chris Miller Billy Joe Tolliver Tony Graziani Kurt Kittner Chris Redman Wade Wilson Matt Schaub Danny Kanell Byron Leftwich and Steve DeBerg . That s a total of games or games a year for seasons with seven different quarterbacks starting at least games. The Falcons have started the same QB in all games of a single season just three times in those seasons George and and Vick . In eight seasons or half the time Atlanta has started three different quarterbacks in the same year including when Harrington Redman four and Leftwich two played musical chairs at the game s most pivotal position with predictable results . Atlanta has enjoyed just four winning seasons and four playoff trips in those years with losing seasons and seven ! years in which it racked up a double digit loss total. By comparison Green Bay has posted a gaudy winning records in that span with playoff trips and just one losing season. Almost polar opposite fates wouldn t you say What a disaster Falcons quarterbacks have been while Favre was building his Hall of Fame career in Green Bay. Who could forget the sideline confrontation with head coach June Jones that hastened the departure of George in Or the helter skelter days of when Jerry Glanville went through the likes of Miller Tolliver Wilson and Hebert like so many interchangeable but ultimately mediocre parts Chris Chandler certainly was the best of the bunch leading the Falcons to a record and their only Super Bowl appearance in but his comically fragile injury history put Atlanta constantly in the position of needing to rely on journeymen like Graziani Kanell Tolliver Johnson and even that geriatric wonder of wonders the year old DeBerg in . It s all hypothetical of course but if Favre had stayed put the Falcons likely would have been spared the i! gnominy of Vick s career self destruction in which devastated the franchise in almost incalculable ways. They would not have had to endure George s embarrassing meltdowns or the false hopes that briefly accompanied young quarterbacks such as Johnson Graziani or Kittner. And they wouldn t have had to traffic so heavily in the veteran retread quarterback market that brought Hebert George Chandler Harrington and Leftwich to town. Favre under center year after year might have trumped it all. For the Falcons this week s news at least presents one small consolation It brings to a close the most galling chapter in franchise history and in one sense puts them out of their misery. After years No. can haunt them no more. The Falcons finally have one thing in common with the Packers Now they both can miss Brett Favre. of SI Media Kits About Us Add RSS headlines Copyright c Time Inc. A Time Warner Company. Nothing seems worth bothering with, but I guess it doesn't bother me. It's not important. I haven't gotten much done lately. Not much on my mind recently. I don't care. I've pretty much been doing nothing.
