it s not all about study. The consumer is not always the buyer. The consumer of cat food is the cat I hope . Clearly the buyer of cat food is not the cat I hope . Therefore the consumer is not always the buyer. However take the use of pester power in marketing toys. Mum or Dad is the buyer. The child is the consumer. As a veteran pestered parent I can tell you it works. Johnny equals the consumer. The distinction is apparent even in the field of consumer psychology itself. It is very much like looking at the same object but from a slightly different viewpoint. The important thing is that ultimately we re looking at the same thing. Personally I prefer the term Consumer Psychology to describe this field of learning. Psyche is the Greek word for mind and logos is Greek for study.
